Banky W & D'Banj join CIROC
Two of Nigeria’s most successful artists, Banky W and D’Banj, have been signed to represent one of the world’s most exclusive lifestyle brands, CÎROC Ultra-Premium Vodka. Their presence on the CÎROC stage puts Nigeria in the global spotlight as a nation which produces world-class talent, and is ready to join the international arena of iconic celebration destinations like Ibiza, Las Vegas and London.
The signings were made at a press conference held at the Ariya Bar in Lagos’ Intercontinental Hotel.
Similar to its international alignment, where CÎROC works with influential & successful talent from around the world, the brand will assist Banky W and D’Banj in their career efforts while simultaneously raising their profiles both domestically and internationally.
“We are proud to be partnering with Banky W and D’Banj as, together, these personalities embody the character that makes up a uniquely CÎROC experience and lifestyle. These two artists are a force to be reckoned with on the international celebration scene, and CÎROC wants to be the first to celebrate and amplify their incredible success,” says Joe Nazaal, Head of Reserve.
Bringing with it a world-renowned celebration style, and known as the drink of choice by international celebrities, CÎROC’s presence also signals an evolution of the luxury market economy.
“CÎROC’s presence in Nigeria places the country firmly on the map in terms of enriching the region’s offering and its status as an international celebration hotspot. This bodes well for increased tourism and a strengthened economy in the luxury experience sector,” adds Joe Nazaal.
King of African Soul/R&B, Banky W combines global with African rhythms and influences to create an entirely unique and impressive sound which has catapulted him to continental and international acclaim (Banky was also invited to the CÎROC Blue Stone Party on the Spanish Island of Ibiza last year).
Multi-Award winning singer-songwriter, D’Banj, meanwhile, has hit both local and international charts with his fusion of Afrobeat and electronic pop (which also saw him win the Best-selling African Artist title at the World Music Awards last year).
Apart from their desire to take African music to the world, both Banky W and D’Banj are also philanthropists, being founders of the I Am Capable Scholarship Fund and Koko Foundation for Youth and Peace Development, respectively.
Following the announcement, Banky W and D’Banj join other personalities from around Africa - including South African personalities Bonang Matheba, David Tlale, Da L.E.S. and DJ Dimplez, as well as Angola’s DJ Malvado - in the exclusive CÎROC Circle, a collection of magnetic talents that personify the new era of luxury ushered in by CÎROC.
