Last night saw the official launch of the highly anticipated SOL-SOL x Levi’s collaboration. The launch took place at both Cape Town’s Corner Store and Dipstreet in Johannesburg. The full collection, a pair of trucker jackets and a pair of cropped 501’s, is a huge milestone in the journey of the Cape Town-based menswear label that counts Kim Jones – Louis Vuitton’s Artistic director –  as one of its fans.

Both launches were the can’t miss fashion events that brought out the who’s who of the local streetwear scene. From the curators to the kids, everyone was eager to get their hands on a piece of local fashion history. The Cape Town leg had food and drink sponsored by the Jack Rabbit food truck and Jameson Whiskey kept guests buzzing.

The launch was kicked off with an expectedly funky set from K-$ who, by now, is not only a Corner Store favourite but a Cape Town institution. Next on the decks was Jon Laura who brought all the energy before handing it over to the capable hands of Christian Tiger School’s Luc Veermeer.

Rain couldn’t dampen the mood at Johannesburg’s Dipstreet store with many fans turning out to show their support for what is quickly becoming one of South Africa’s favourite menswear brands.
