Gucci Goes to Space

If you needed another reason to fall in love with Italian luxury fashion house, Gucci, then their AW17 campaign is just the jolt to the heart you needed. While owning a genuine piece of Gucci merchandise would be considered pure fantasy the company’s latest campaign takes heavy inspiration from the realm of science fiction. Taking inspiration from the science fiction of the 50’s and 60’s, and the television show Star-Trek. In one shot, a pair of intrepid models fend off the horrors of a pre historic earth while in another impeccably dressed alien shares a passionate embrace with an equally well dressed human woman. The entire shoot has a retro futuristic aesthetic that taps into the collective conscientious that makes the images seem nostalgic even if you never saw a single episode of Star-Trek. If one of you is lucky enough to get your hands, tentacles, or pincers on one any of the pieces from the collection we would be (Martian) green with envy.

Samsung set to produce the best iPhone ever made

To the casual observer, it would seem that both mobile phone giants, Samsung and Apple, are on equal footing, that assumption is actually far from the truth. Samsung, in addition to making phones, a manufacturer of several phone components including screens, processors, and batteries. In fact, Samsung is a supplier of components their main competitor, Apple. After providing the RAM for the iPhone 7 it has been reported that Samsung will be supplying the OLED screens for the iPhone8, slated to be released in the last quarter of this year. Samsung’s role in the production is set to increase even further in the years to come. After reaching a deal last week it looks like Samsung will have the exclusive deal to produce the processing chips that will go inside of the iPhone9. Who would have thought these suppose rivals were such close bedfellows?

Condolences For Chester Bennington

The world is still in mourning after the tragic death of musician and Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington. His music was raw, honest, and refreshing. Linkin Park came along at the height of the Spears-esque bubblegum pop era, and their music was the perfect antidote to this. Linkin Park is credited with introducing a generation of young people to alternative music. They were a breath of fresh air that gusted into the music industry and changed it forever. From Band Co-founder Mike Shinoda to Rihanna and Chance the Rapper, fans and peers have expressed their shock and sadness at the passing of such a beloved talent. He will be sorely missed.

We can’t wait to see how this new development works for the character and the film. Thor: Ragnarok releases November 3.
