Rap’s reigning kinds debut new music videos

In an uncanny stroke of luck, Cassper Nyovest and Kendrick Lamar debuted new music videos just two days apart – great fodder for anyone writing an article about entertainment news. From opposite sides of the Atlantic, the biggest names in rap music enlisted their female collaborators as leading ladies for their latest videos. For Cassper Nyovest’s Destiny, the SA rapper assumes a new identity as a scientist, or a love doctor, if you will, who creates a robot companion – played by vocalist, Goapele, to love forever. The video is made up of several scenes depicting their love story and borrows visuals reminiscent of Minority Report and other Sci-Fi classics. This video is definitely a new direction from the Doc Shebeleza days of old, but we still love what we’re seeing

Kendrick Lamar’s video for Loyalty, while also featuring a romance, is a little less simple to pin down. The video, featuring Rihanna, has Kendrick assuming multiple roles and even sees him rapping to himself. The constant is his love interest, Rihanna. Throughout the trials and tribulations, fights, and betrayals Rihanna remains his ride or die evoking the title of the song: Loyalty. Interspersed with all this is a number seen-to-be-believed visuals that you can check out below.

Black Coffee on Beats 1

Black Coffee has been very busy lately. This is saying something considering he is in almost perpetual motion. His international feature list grows by the day and his latest accolade is certainly his biggest. Following in the footsteps of industry giants like Drake and Pharrell Williams, Black Coffee will be the become the host of his own Beats 1 Radio Show: Black Coffee on Beats 1. Massive news for Black Coffee, but a big boost for the local music industry as a whole. Although the show will spotlight South Africa and house music Black Coffee told Times Live “what we’re trying to do is to really expose people to me. As in, what do I love as this is my show? What inspires me musically”? The show, which debuted last week, is available to Apple Music users and has already delivered a treat for fans. As the opening track of the show, Black Coffee debuted an unreleased and untitled track featuring Swizz Beatz and Burna Boy.

In A Heartbeat is heartfelt.

In A Heartbeat, the animated short film that’s exploring love from a new perspective for the medium has hearts melting. The 4 minute short follows a closeted boy who risks being outed when his heart literally pops out of his chest. In a time when intolerance is still far too high, the film serves as an important lesson. This subject, which has never been explored in computer animation is hopefully the first of many. Watch it below and share with your friends.

Jonah Hill is a new man

Jonah Hill has been building a successful career in Hollywood for years. From his (very) brief appearance in the Judd Apatow directed classic The 40-year-old-Virgin to double Oscar nominee, Jonah is living the life of one of entertainment industry’s elite. None of that, however, has been the subject of most of the recent media coverage surrounding the actor. Over the past few months the internet, and all its affiliates have lost their collective minds over his drastic weight loss that has the actor looking more fit than trim. People can’t seem to get enough. He’s been dubbed a streetwear icon and people the world over have been advised to keep an eye on their significant others lest Mr Hill swoop down and snatch them away. Take a look at some of his best looks from the past few weeks.
