The world’s most impressive outdoor art gallery – AfrikaBurn
Another magnificent seven days of art, music, performance and creative expression aka AfrikaBurn (SA version of Burning Man) has come and gone. 2017’s theme ‘Play’ was about unlocking the connective tissue that brings people together to relax, explore and amplify life… and that is exactly what festivalgoers did. The burning of a temple or a man-like structure has become a tradition of the festival and this year the structure to go up in flames was called the Temple of Gratitude. Check out some of the insane photography below.
Nike sports park in Moscow
Nike asked five of Russia’ leading architecture companies come up with a “unique architectural object” that will integrate into Moscow’s park environment and act as a landmark hub for sport and physical activity. The winning design was based on the idea of a Nike Air Box, a rational rectangular shape with each sides having differing functionality and forms. The park which will begin construction in 2017 will include a street football court, basketball court, running club hub, indoor training facility, and supplemental facilities. Check it out below.
Virtual visits around the world
Google has done it again! As part of their Arts & Culture project, they announced that they will be opening a total of 2,779 of museums and moments around the world to their online audience (free of charge). It will work on a similar base to Google Street View, allowing users to explore places like Mount Rushmore, Stonehenge and the Colosseum with 360° views from their computers or smartphones. Google also has some good news for forgetful car owners – as the Google Maps app now has the ability to remember where you parked your car with the use of a simple label. The new feature also comes with optional extras such a time setting (to avoid parking tickets you know), sending the spot to a friend or saving a pic of the location. Don’t forget to update Google Maps!
Nicky Minja shows her sultry side
Nicky Minja fans are still reeling from last month’s video release for “Frauds” ft Drake and Lil Wayne but the queen of rap has already returned with new visuals for “Regret In Your Tears”. The sensual and cinematic video was shot by legendary fashion photographers and visual artists Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. Although the famous duo has shot countless editorials and magazine covers, this is only their second music video (the first being Madonna’s “Girls Gone Wild) – so Nicky must have done something right to get them onboard! The video debuted as a TIDAL exclusive, but you can check out the teaser below. In other Nicky news, the singer announced on Monday evening at the Met Gala that she is collaborating with H&M on a fall 2017 collection! We can’t even begin to imagine what it will look like…

DJ Khaled star-studded vid released
If anyone has ever doubted that DJ Khaled is the king of collabs, his new video will erase all of that. Since February he has been teasing fans with images of the video shoot for “I’m The One” ft Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne and it is finally here! This follows his single “Shining” with Jay Z & Beyonce (see what we mean with collabs?) and serves as the second single from his forthcoming album Grateful. Check out the star-studded video below.

Unicorns, mermaids and… frorks
Okay, so let’s just take a moment to appreciate the weird and wonderful things the world comes up with…
In April, Starbucks introduced the magical, color-changing Unicorn Frappuccino (created with pink powder blended into a crème Frapp base ). It starts out as a fruity, sweet purple drink with swirls of blue but as you stir, the colors turn pink and the flavor becomes tangy and tart. Magic! The promotion ended but made place for a new craze, the Mermaid Frappuccino, a pink and green drink made with vanilla bean, blackberry and matcha powder. The latest unicorn trend to “spread” the net, however, is unicorn and mermaid toast, topped with naturally dyed cream cheese and sugary sprinkles in a rainbow of colours, and yes it is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Check it out below!
If the pretty pink creatures aren’t for you, you can opt for the Goth-like ice-cream or more accurately a black almond charcoal soft serve (getting its dark hue naturally from activated charcoal!). At the moment it is only available in LA so you will have to feast (only) your eyes for now.
Finally, the MacDonald’s limited edition “Frork” (aka the fry fork) which they will be giving to customers as part of their Signature Crafted Recipes promotion. So how does it work? “Frork” trades in the traditional prong for three hot and salty french fries. Check out the mock infomercial, showcasing all the wonders of  “Frork” below.
