In need of an entertainment fix? We’ve got you covered! Words: Bianca Agenbag
Have you zine it?
Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 5 premiered at NYFW yesterday but before we get into that let’s take a moment to appreciate the Season 4’s zine which was sent out along with the show’s invite (a vacuum sealed army-green crewneck sweatshirt). The zine, which is now officially on sale, is filled with dark photography, subversive references and post-apocalyptic settings with lots of famous faces such as Rich the Kid, Teyana Taylor and Braina Laviena. Check it out below.
Yeezy Season 5
As mentioned above Yeezy Season 5 has hit the runway and totally made up for last season’s fiasco. The show, which was definitely aimed at the Snap and Instagram generation, projected every look on a four-sided obelisk before fading to black. Trucker jackets, washed denim, flannel shirts, woodland camos, new graphical references and sportswear attires took center stage including the highly anticipated Calabasas-branded items. In true Kanye-style, he refused to make an appearance after the show.
Low temperatures and high fashion
NYFW 2017 is in full swing and although the weather is freezing (we are talking snow and blizzard) it has not warded off fashionistas from bringing their A-game. So what is trending on the streets of NYC? By the looks of it, bright pops of yellow, red and orange, puffer jackets and pairing clashing colours are going to be the next big thing. Check out some of the most stylish looks below.
Beyoncé of Burundi
Listen up – Cassper Nyovest needs your help! A video of a young girl with an incredible voice doing a rendition of Beyoncé’s “Halo” has been doing the rounds on social media and caught the eye of hip hop artist Cassper Nyovest who took to Twitter asking fans to help him find the singer. If you haven’t seen it yet check out the video below, she really is mind-blowingly talented. We can’t wait to see if she has what it takes to become the Beyoncé of Africa.

Beyoncé x2
Now for some news on the ‘real’ Beyoncé. Queen Bee released not one but two new music videos for “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles” from her album Lemonade (you know the one that didn’t win a Grammy). Both videos are gorgeous, evoking a sense of African spirituality while incorporating Renaissance iconography. It is different and it works! Check it out below.
“Eleven” joins Converse
It seems that no one can get enough of 12-year-old Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown (and who can blame them). Getting more popular by the day she is not only the new face of Calvin Klein, signed to IMG (representing the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid), but also the leading lady of Converse’s new campaign Forever Chuck. The campaign’s first installment, Chucks in Film, stars Brown who explores characters from ’80s classics such as The Breakfast Club and Back to the Future that has helped make the Chuck shoe so iconic. Check it out below.

Airbound
Have $400 000 USD lying around? Then hurry up and put in your preorder for a flying car. Yes, we said flying car. Dutch company PAL-V has introduced what they refer to as “the first certified commercial flying car ever.” The PAL-V Liberty, which bears a close resemblance to a helicopter, can hit ground speeds of up to 160 km/h and can go 1300 km driving distance on a full tank. While in the air, it has a top speed of 180 km/h but it can only travel 498 km before needing to refuel. The first batch is set to be ready for delivery at the end of 2018. Welcome to the future!

Bey Bolt
After becoming the world’s fastest man and taking home eight Olympic gold medals, one could say Usain Bolt turned his dreams into reality. The Jamaican legend has confirmed that he will be retiring from athletics in August this year, saying that he has achieved everything he dreamt of and has no reason to continue running. We will definitely miss him on the track! Check out the video below for some of his insane winning moments. Goosebumps…

Love is actually back
For all those who rewatch Love Actually every festive season, we have good news and we have bad news. The good news – after 14 years the star-studded cast will reunite to film a sequel! The bad news – it will only be a 10 min short film. The sequel will follow up on the original story, finally satisfying the speculation over the fate of the characters by giving the audience a look at what the couples are up to in the present day. The sequel is set to air on BBC One on March 24. Check out one of the most iconic moments from the movie below,
