CSA Staff Weekend Playlist

CSA Staff Weekend Playlist

The CSA team has come to rescue your weekend! Unsolicited but always appreciated we have selected, from our own ranks, the brightest music minds in the office. With different tastes and catering to different moods, we’ve assembled a winning playlist for whatever party, pre-drinks, picnic or activity – private or personal – you have in mind. Thank us later.

Words: The Editors of The Wire

Kirby Venlet – Our always on client service maestro

I chose a playlist that plays as loud and fast as I do; strictly bangers from front to back.  You won’t easily forget this selection. If I know, you know. I pride myself on being the first person with the latest drops – every new release, all the leaks, no doubt I’m the plug.

Cardi B – Money Bag

Nicki Minaj – Chun Li

Migos – Narcos

Lil Uzi Vert -The Way Life Goes.

Paige Mashinini – media relations

My job may make for a glossy life, but I’m not one to carry an ego. Earnestness is ripped straight from page one of my playbook and that’s something I pride myself on. Mine is a selection of afrobeat standouts that is likely to turn anyone who is not familiar with the continent’s offerings into a convert – Afrobeats always makes me want to get down. I love how the various instruments come through (bongo drums, mbira (piano) and base. Also, I feel like the instruments make the music authentic.

Wizkid ft. Mut4y –  Manya

Runtown – Energy

Tekno – Greenlight

Lindile Ndwanyana – Media Liaison Extraordinaire

I like to think I blend culture and savvy into a potent mix.  They’ll never say it here but I’m a favourite around the office (and probably elsewhere too). In my playlist I thought I’d shoot for the stars – The playlist is inspired by me as I get on with the journey of reaching into the cosmos and tap into something big, all-knowing and all-encompassing.

Abenguni – Thandiswa Mazwai

All the Stars – Kendrick Lamar and SZA

Pray – Sam Smith

Nadine Oosthuizen – Long-suffering and Indispensable Content Chief

Managing this often unwieldy enterprise is not a job for the faint of heart or the poorly dressed so I thank god that I’m allergic to even the thought of either those two things. Inspired by my recent trip to London – contemplating why elevators are a place for silence, while planes are tantamount to therapy sessions – I created a playlist to capture the memories of the time spent there. The best bits I’ve called “elevator music” and they’re pretty damn good.

Insecure Men – Subaru Nights

Rex Orange County – Loving is Easy

Boy Pablo – ur phone

Tshiamo Seape – Writer and At-risk-youth

I have created a playlist inspired by the private moments between the parties and those woozy late night/early morning drives home. It’s self-indulgent, but a lot of fun. I wanted to make an anti-party playlist. This is basically a collection of songs to be enjoyed by two or three people, max – including the uber driver.

Sports – Whatever You Want

Jimothy Lacoste – Future Bae

Jakob Ogawa – Velvet Light

RALPH TV – Taxi Boy
