15 Mar HEAVY-K JOINS C.S.A. GLOBAL FAMILY
Our favorite Afro-house composers/producers/DJ’s, Heavy-K, has signed to C.S.A.’s talent division on a global management deal.
The signing took place in C.S.A.’s Beverly Hills, California office where the Drumboss had been visiting after a week in Los Angeles, which culminated in an African Getdown at The Absolut Elyx House in Hollywood with guest host, Oscar and Grammy Award-winning actor-rapper, Common.
“We are excited to have signed Heavy-K for representation and management in all aspects of his career as a producer, songwriter and DJ in South Africa, across the continent and abroad. We believe the world is ready for the beat of Heavy-K,” says Davin Phillips, executive director, talent, Celebrity Services Africa.
Indeed, Heavy has already spent the last five days in studio with Grammy award-winning record producer Karl Rubin, acclaimed LA rapper and poet, King Los and new soul singer-songwriter Stacy Barthe.
“I’m excited to have C.S.A. in my corner in every way, helping me grow my brand globally in this next chapter of my career. It means I can keep on being who I am and take my music across Africa and to the world. Get ready for some big hits – we are already hard at work!” says Heavy-K.
Adds Davin Phillips: “African culture and music is transcending borders and boundaries and becoming a powerful part of the global cultural narrative. We are excited to be celebrating African culture inside and outside of the continent for which we predict that Heavy-K will be a significant catalyst through his unique sound.”
With four albums under his belt and a number of hits – including the current chart-topping “Inde” – Heavy-K is the recipient of platinum records and awards for his Afro-house sounds which bring a drum-driven, infectious and nuanced African beat to a contemporary dance music consciousness.
