The past 72 hours have seen the release of CSA’s quarterly report of Africa’s Next Generation influencers: The 50 most talented, creative and influential artists spanning all corners of the continent who are destined for global success. Featuring social media masters like Twiggy Moli of Sleepless in Soweto to the DJ’s commanding legions of fans a la Heavy K, The Radar Volume 2 is truly a powerhouse collection setting the standard within the entertainment industry.
Before we introduce you to the cream of the crop of Volume 2, our On the Radar Top 15, let’s take a quick look back at the ups and ups of the radar alumni who stole the spotlight after the release of our inaugural report.
Nigerian fashion designer, ADEBAYO OKE-LAWAL starred in an ACCELERATE TV THE COVER STORY and collaborated with celebrated musician Davido on a capsule collection for SELFRIDGES. HUSSAIN VAN ROOS successfully completed a campaign WITH RED HEART and appeared in the pages of Destiny magazine. ZAID OSMAN brought the popular SNEAKER EXCHANGE to Cape Town headlined by Cassper Nyovest and Radar alum, YOUNGSTA. A-REECE is set to headline #HOMECOMINGAFRICA show and #TOYOTALIVE DRUMBEAT alongside OKMALUMKOOLKAT.
Pro-skater JEAN-MARC JOHANNES signed to C.S.A., BROKE A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD, TWICE and penned his second influencer campaign with Red Heart. Singer MOONCHILD SANELLY PREMIERED ON SABC 2 MORNING LIVE WITH C.S.A. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DAVIN PHILLIPS, dropped her debut album and went on a European tour. Artist LADY SKOLLIE SIGNS NIKE “VISIONAIRS” CAMPAIGN and joined Trevor Noah, Charlize Theron, and others for the production of children’s monologues in Carnegie Hall, NYC. Artist MANTHE RIBANE signed to CSA, was a keynote speaker at the KZN MUSIC IMBIZO, and performed at Unsound festival in Krakow, Poland.
MAJOR LEAGUE DJZ joined the STATUS DEODORANT MEN OF STATUS CAMPAIGN and hosted the sold-out major league DJz gardens festival. Stylist GABRIELLE KANNEMEYER was appointed as CREATIVE DIRECTOR FOR ADIDAS’ AREA 3 CAMPAIGN and brought other visual stories to life for brands such as orange culture, Lukhanyo Mdingi and Nicholas Coutts. Musician SHANE EAGLE dropped his NO.1 DEBUT ALBUM, YELLOW. Footballer GEORGE LEBESE signed to CSA, JOINED STATUS DEODORANT’S MEN OF STATUS CAMPAIGN and Mamelodi Sundowns.
