This past week saw the union of two of the most beautiful, talented and creative couples you are likely to come across – Yannick Ilunga, better know as Petit Noir, and his longtime girlfriend and artistic collaborator, Rochelle “Rharha” Nembhard. The couple tied the knot in on a wine estate in Cape Town on Monday. The ceremony was the second of two weddings – the first having taken place in London – and enlisted close friend Trevor Stuurman to capture all the beautiful moments including the couples eye-catching ensemble; seen below in striking red.

 

 

Frank Casino debuts Low ft. A$AP Ferg

Frank Casino adds a new accolade to the stellar second half of his 2017 with the debut of his latest single, Low featuring A$AP Ferg. The Radar Volume 2 Top 15 star has landed one of the most coveted MC’s in the game right now, The Trap Lord himself: A$AP Ferg. Frank joins the growing list of local artists who have collaborated with foreign stars. Last month Kwesta’s “Spirit” featuring U.S. rapper Wale was well received and hopes are high that Frank Casino and Ferg will be equally as lucky. Amazon announces Lord of the Rings TV series

After much speculation, Amazon has confirmed a televised adaptation of the cultural phenomenon that is Lord of The Rings. With the acquisition of the rights to Tolkiens’s fantasy epic costing an estimated $200 Million, and with each season rumoured to cost in the region of 150 million to 200 million dollars the folks at Amazon are clearly swinging for the fences and straight at HBO’s Game of Thrones. The series will not retell the story brought to life in Peter Jackson’s cinematic trilogy, but will instead focus on storylines that preceded The Fellowship of the Ring – the inaugural novel in the series. We can’t wait to see what this means for one of the most beloved stories in the English speaking world.

 

 

Pharell launches Huking Hu

Amidst the ever-increasing number of high profile fashion collabs, there is one that stands out as more consistent than the rest: Pharrell Williams x Adidas. Inspired by LA hiking culture, the brand and the musician have teamed up once again and added to their existing “Hu” series. The fun and playful collection features bold colours and graphic designs reimagined for utilitarian hiking apparel. The full collection is available in store and online now. Shifting moods with colour changing furniture

Orijeen, the Korean design studio has released a mini collection of storage pieces that perfectly blend form, function and technology to create something special. The collection, called Colour Flow, is made up of a freestanding wardrobe – which shifts between shades of green and blue,  and a sideboard that highlights blues and pinks. The pieces change colour according to your movement and position in a room and is done using a lenticular coating. Designed with the intention of drawing attention to the relationship between object and user, Orijeen prides themselves on highlighting the connections between humans, design and the environment.
