A decade and a half of the best entertainment journalism in the world is a cause for celebration. When The Vowel, E! touched down in South Africa 15 years ago, it gave South African viewers unprecedented access to the stars they love and the events they dream of attending. On April 11th The network that launched a thousand red carpets turned the spotlight on itself with a gala celebration to match any Hollywood premiere.

The event, #LoveELiveE, celebrated one of the biggest names in pop culture and as such, enlisted the help of DStv and today’s biggest stars from across the continent to bring the event to life. The party, hosted by E! Africa’s Kat Sinivasan, included guest appearances by CSA Talents Bonang Matheba and D’banj as well as Minnie Dlamini and “How Do I Look” South Africa host, Roxy Burger. The start power didn’t stop there, as throughout the roll-out of the event, well wishes from E! alumni like Guiliana Rancic and Kris Jenner poured in. Entertainment on the night was handled by DJ Zinhle and Cassper Nyovest – just another reminder of the star power this event was able to assemble.

In the lead up to the event, E! recognised some of the most iconic and influential people in the region via E! Africa’s Pop Culture Awards. With the winners being announced across several categories.
