STATUS joins festival in support of the hustle

 

 

Johannesburg, September 18th, 2017 – Internationally acclaimed Hip-Hop duo and Men of STATUS, Banele and Bandile Mbere, known as Major League DJz, thrilled fans this weekend with an electrifying performance at the inaugural Major League Gardens Social Arts Festival, which took place at the FNB Stadium outer fields.

 

Hosted by Mzansi’s adored twosome, Somizi and Khanyi Mbau alongside Big Dreams and Carpo, the festival saw an all-star line-up including the Nigerian trailblazer Davido, who shut the house down with an electrifying performance of IF, currently the biggest song in Africa.

 

 

Six-time SAMA winner Kwesta also represented alongside Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, OkmalumKoolkat, Black Motion and Maphorisa, each delivering a unique and memorable message. Other standout performances included an emotional gospel set by Jub Jub, and an impromptu dance-off between Nadia Nakai and host Khanyi Mbau.

 

 

SA’s “new school” were also represented by Stilo Magolide, Sho Madjozi DJ Speedsta, Gemini Major, and Tshego, to name a few.

Following their recent announcement as Men of Status, the dynamic duo was supported at the event with a VIP tent, which catered for both artists and the media with delectable food and drinks. The area also provided for artist interviews and photo opportunities.

Other guests at the festival included the comedian Tswyza and Nigerian superstar and collaborator in Major League DJz’s latest music video Do Better, Patoranking.
