On Monday the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – the people responsible for handing out Oscars each year – released the list of the 87 foreign language films from across the globe that will compete to take home an Oscar in 2019.
Nine directors, including one from South Africa, round out the African contingent. The final list of nominations will be announced on January 22nd next year while the Oscar Ceremony will be held on Sunday, February fourth.
