After our first interview with the multi talented Ross “Archy” Sey we immediately knew we wanted a round two. The designer, musician (now going under the moniker, sage17) and all-around cool-as-hell creative drew us in from the first word and we’ve been waiting to chat with him again ever since.  Now, with our wishes granted and playlist to enjoy, we present our reintroduction to this artist on the come up.

Words: Tshiamo Seape

So, what have you been up to since we last spoke?
I’ve been busy you know, still hustling.

Now that the dust has settled on BigFoot&WildBoy season 1, what lessons/tricks etc have you learned going into season 2?
I think I learnt that I have the capacity to switch up my creative output when I need to, and in learning that I feel like versatility is key. Especially when you’re new to the game and you’re tryna create your own dialogue with fashion.

We’re all about new talent here at CSA, so please tell us a little bit about your collaborators on your new track, “Space”, No6ody and Ansleigh Omar
Ahh, they’re both upcoming talents in the game, both are artists and producers too so they’re dope to work with, you know they know what they talking about when we work, so it’s worthwhile. But you’ll find out more about em both soon.

Who are some local artists (any field) that you are taking some cues from are eager to work with?
Man, there are loads of artists I wanna work with, some I’m already working with, too many to name though. However, s/o stillaround and Ansliegh, No6ody, @dailymarvin, Amy G, AWKN Cult, Molly Mayhem, all these artists inspire me.

What are you most excited about for the rest of 2018?
I think I’m just most excited to see where my art progresses to and to see if I can start feeling more positive about my creative output.
