Award winning acts Lira, Mi Casa, Thandiswa Mazwai, Judith Sephuma, Ringo Madlingozi, Amanda Black, Mafikizolo and The Soil, were announced as the official line up for the 2019 Nubian Music Festival.   Now in its third year, the Nubian Music Festival – one of SA’s biggest cultural festivals, fusing food, music and lifestyle – takes place from the 13th – 16th December 2019 at the Eagle Waters Wildlife Resort on the banks of the scenic Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West province.   DJ’s Amon Mokoena, KB Molopyane and the “Big Dawg” of the airwaves, DJ Fresh and MC’s Sammy Fever and Penny Lebyane were also announced as part of the Nubian Music Festival Line-up.   “When you think Nubian, you think Africa, celebrating our roots and our continent’s amazing potential. I’m proud to be part of such a unique festival that celebrates Africa, including performing alongside an incredible caliber of musicians. I can’t wait until we all come together and experience what I believe will be a joyous moment,” says The Soil’s Buhlebendalo Mda.   With a goal of promoting social togetherness and cultural tolerance, The Nubian Music Festival sees itself as a true “family affair”, elevating it to a Music, Culinary and Lifestyle Event that caters to all ages and tastes.   Says Mpho Mathope, creator of the Nubian Music Festival: “Hosting this festival is close to my heart. I’ve always loved spending time with my family and bringing people together. When I noticed a lack of family-friendly festivals, I started my own festival in order to accommodate people who wanted to spend a fun-filled weekend away with their families in a safe and scenic environment.”   Apart from the extraordinary line-up of talent, other activities include movies under the stars, a bonfire braai feast, zip lining, visits to the elephant sanctuary, cheetah and lion park, golf day, spa treatments, stand-up comedy, a dedicated Kids Zone with magic shows, puppets, water sports and kiddie rides, to a Champagne Brunch aboard a boat on the Hartbeespoort dam and much more.   Adding to the excitement, The House of BNG was announced as the “Official Bubbly” for the 3rd Annual Nubian Music Festival and its MCCs will be the event’s drink of choice.   For tickets and accommodation options, please go to  www.computicket.co.za
