We’ve passed the halfway mark of winter. The days (although you might not notice it yet) are getting longer, and the nights more pleasant. We’ve passed the halfway mark of the year, and you will definitely notice The Wire is gearing up for our greatest work. In July we bring you unprecedented access to the stars, and tastemakers of tomorrow.

Last month, as part of The Wire, we introduced The Radar – our definitive guide to the next generation of influencers from around the continent. As individuals, our influencers stand as giants in their own field. They are at the top of their game and we aimed to showcase exactly that. In our next iteration, The Wire is showing the next phase in influencer evolution: COLLABORATION. What boundaries existed when our artists worked alone cease to exist with a little help from their friends, and we are proud to bring you the process in full. From beginning to end, The Wire is ready to showcase the talent and brands that are collaborating  to create magic.

This is going to be our biggest month yet, so you don’t want to miss out on any of the action. We’re expanding our reach and exposing you to more talent from across the continent. In our brand new feature – Across Africa, we’re handing over the reins to the most dynamic and influential talent Africa has to offer – from homegrown favourites to the best of abroad, The Wire is giving you exclusive access to the must see people, places, and culture in the best cities around our beautiful continent.

Fashion is always on our minds and this month is no different. We’re keeping our eyes trained on the red carpet and the sidewalk. In our regular fashion features The Wire is showcasing everything from high-end couture to the most talked about names in streetwear.

There is perhaps no better example of the power of collaboration (at least within fashion), to create a noticeable cultural impact than the Supreme x Louis Vuitton.  The result has been nothing but outrageous. The combination of limited production runs and the presence of hype has turned this already expensive collab into a circus of expenditure. In-store prices are sky high, but the resale market is another story. Both brands have loyal followings, but the combination has really taken things to the next level

Brands, of course, are not the only ones getting in on the collab game. Natural persons, too, have a part to play in expanding horizons beyond what could be achieved alone. As one-third of the rap supergroup, Migos, Quavo has seen his profile rise to the top of the rap game off the back of many high profile collaborations. These days, it seems, you can’t leave your house without hearing a hot 16 from Quavo.

On the local front, the likes of Kwesta, and Jean-Marc Johannes have been making waves by inviting the public to become part of the collaboration, and we can’t wait to show you more from around Africa.

We have more from the #CSARADAR Top 40, our Global round-up will keep you up to date with the latest news from around the world, and the Twtterviews just keep coming. We also have competitions lined up so keep it locked to The Wire throughout the month, because you won’t want to miss a thing.
