Jay – Z and Beyonce announce On The Run II Tour

After months of speculation, the rumour mill grinds to a halt as Jay-Z and Beyonce announce the dates for their long-awaited On The Run II Tour. OTR II is the follow-up to the couples ultra successful 2014 tour and will kick off in June. Unfortunately for local audiences, OTR II won’t be making it to the Southern Hemisphere, so we’ll just have to satiate our Bey and Jay cravings vicariously through those lucky enough to see them live. Billion Dollar Black Panther

After just a month of release, the indomitable force that is Black Panther has crossed the billion-dollar mark for worldwide ticket sales. No film in recent memory seems to have captured the public’s imagination quite like Black Panther, and its hold on the collective conscious has not let up since its release. After spending 4 consecutive weeks at the top of the U.S. box office – a first for Marvel – the film is on its way to becoming the second highest grossing superhero movie of all time and breaking into the top 20 highest grossing films of any kind – Wakanda Forever!

It’s damn refreshing to see one of South African Hip-Hop’s elder legends come together with the next generation of industry leaders. On Wang’thola, Khuli Chana, The MotswakOriginator, joins forces with Aewon Wolf off the latter’s Proudly South African EP, released last September. Tumi Voster Honoured by Gauteng Premiere

5FM DJ and television personality Tumi Voster was honoured by the Gauteng Provincial government at the second annual Youth Excellence Awards. The Gauteng City Region Youth Excellence and Service Awards were held on 10 March at the St Georges Hotel, Tshwane and aims to recognise the positive role of young people within the province for their contribution to the region’s growth and development.
