Who Is Hlogi Mash?

Lehlogonolo Mashigo, known to her fans as “Hlogi Mash” is a Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Midfielder, Basetsana Player, and Musician.

2019 was a defining year for talented Hlogi Mash as she declared, “Leave me alone! Let me live my life!”

Hlogi had simply had enough of being humiliated for being a lesbian and was exhausted by people trying to drag her down. Empowered by this call to arms, Hlogi then went on to score the winning goal for Sundowns in their 2-1 victory over Tsunami Queens.

It’s two years later and Hlogi has gone from locking herself in her room to avoid others to fully embracing her truth and living her life with pride & joy. When the 22-year-old is not on the field making winning plays, she is entertaining us on stage as an Amapiano dancer, DJ and vocalist. Hlogi gained her prominence after her electrifying dance moves went viral on social media and 1000s joined in to try out her online dance challenges.

Along with fellow dancer and girlfriend, Hope Ramafolo, Hlogi is out and proud. The two have an established a joint account, House of H.H., and not only has Mzanzi fallen in love with the power couple but are supporting their presence online, showing big love for their videos.

Hlogi’s dance moves have landed her sharing the stage with some of SA’s biggest musicians including Moonchild and Focalistic and she features on Kamo Mphela’s latest music video which premiered in March.

With nothing holding her back, Hlogi is swiftly racking up accomplishments. She recently starred in in a Mzansi Original Movie, Masupa, and released her EP, “East West”, in November last year.

Hlogi is a new kind of LGBTQ hero. When she is not hanging out with all the cool kids, she uses her talent to give back to the community and actively uses soccer to inspire young people. She has also partnered with Stage Fright Edutainment to raise COVID-19 awareness among school kids through dance. Her company, “Legs on the Beat Entertainment”, promotes dancing, music and the arts among the youth and she is also planning a nationwide talent search.

With ambitions to play for Banyana Banyana and AC Milan, athlete, entertainer and entrepreneur Hlogi Mash has proven that authenticity and realness is a winning combination.
