Meet the class of 2024.

Way Kay

Producer Way Kay, aka Mbaki Mohako, from Botswana, is quickly becoming a talent to take note of. While he has captivated audiences with his distinctive fusion of African rhythms & electronic beats, his meteoric rise to fame is nothing short of extraordinary. It is marked by the gold status of his album, “SA Bosigo”, and its dominance on international charts, including the UK. Notably, Way Kay’s talent has garnered recognition from esteemed South African Amapiano producers like Bean Rsa, the former member of the lowkeyz, DJ Maphorisa, Mellow N Sleazy, “Khuzagogo” hit makers Amavenger, Bob Mabena, and Lady Du. His contribution to the music scene reflects a remarkable blend of cultural influences, contemporary beats and savoire faire keeping the Amapiano genre fresh.

CLAY

CLAY, a Nigerian Alternative Rock/Afro Rock artist based in Lagos, has made a significant mark in the music scene. Her single “AMIN” earned the Best Rock category award at the 2022 AFRIMA Awards. Debuting with “Ogadisinma,” which was nominated at the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) for Best Alternative, she continued her success with “Dancing in the Sun,” featuring Vector Tha Viper. It won her Top Naija Music Awards (TNMA) for Best Record of the Year. CLAY has since been crowned “Rock Goddess” at the Audio Inferno’s African Rock Music Awards. Her collaboration on the song,  “The One”, with MAVIN’s Johnny Drille garnered a Beatz Award nomination for “Best Afro Rock.” She has been recognized as the pioneer of post-hardcore in Nigeria. We will be keeping an eye and ear on CLAY as she continues to break barriers in the music industry.

Andrea Fortuin

A gifted vocalist from South Africa, Andrea Fortuin’s passion for singing was ignited at a tender age. From belting out Whitney Houston tunes in front of the mirror at five, she swiftly garnered fame at 15 through captivating cover songs on Facebook. She went on to host a sold-out showcase in Cape Town where she performed to a packed arena at Grand West. Andrea’s remarkable journey continued as she shared the stage with Jonathan Butler at Nederburg Wine Estate at 16. A notable collaboration on “Forever or Never”, with PE’s Early B, further added to her success. With her vocal prowess, we expect this songbird to make waves in the industry.

ERNIMARR

Zimbabwe-born, now resident in Cape Town, ERNIMARR launched his musical journey at the age of 17, initially sharing his songs on SoundCloud. He then transitioned to mainstream streaming platforms in 2020. He has since collaborated with Dirty Sprite Mafia, crafted a 3-track EP titled “Its E” and unveiled 14 singles, including the recent heartbreak ode, “Leavin Her”. In 2021, ERNIMARR, along with friends, established the independent record label Southern Homies Music and Entertainment. Shortly after, he secured a distribution deal with Symphonic Africa. His goal is global recognition, winning awards and dominating radio and television charts with upcoming projects strategically geared to position him as a prominent figure in the realm of independent music. We can’t wait see what he has in store for us.

MO

Singer & Songwriter Monique, also known as MO, from Cape Town, is disrupting the music scene with her incredible talent and presence. Nurturing her musical passion from an early age, she joined the church choir at 7. The once potential Chartered Accountant found her true calling during her “gap year” in 2015, leading her to study music at the Cape Music Institute. Since then, MO has been professionally singing, refining her skills. Starting as a backing vocalist, she spent four years collaborating with local artists, experimenting across genres. This exploration shaped her distinctive RnB-Trap sound, reflecting her upbringing in the streets of South Africa. Mo is establishing herself as a notable figure in the music scene with her live performances described as unmissable.
