The WIRE dropped in at the opening of the BROKE BOYS latest venue offering the BROKE KLUBHOUSE in Cape Town.

In true BROKE style, cool kids, fashionistas, hustlers, and the creatives of Cape Town lined up at 53 Wale Street. The Fashion Boutique/Bar/Hangout/Club is the latest lifestyle offering from the imaginative fashion and culture collective consisting of Andile Dlamini, Sindiso Tshuma, Mzwandile Sithole, Akhona Beja and Simbongile Bino.

The space is minimalist homage to edgy 90’s design.  A bold canvas of white, reflection and red accents complimented by atmospheric, soft neon lighting. On offer is a retail space (and on the day of the launch, the merch was flying off the shelves), red leather seating, a long bar area and DJ booth. The spontaneous dancefloor was heaving to the sounds of Deep house and a very fresh glitchy underground take on Amapiano. The crowd was friendly, with the majority proudly sporting BROKE merch.

The WIRE caught Zwandile (BROKE Co-founder) on the dancefloor who shared: “We want everyone to come and enjoy this inclusive space. Broke is for all the rebels, the misfits, the youth. We are proud to create a space for culture to thrive, big ideas to be born and for the best grooves happen. Expect big vibes for the summer and rotating list of talented DJ’s.”
